Happy First Monday of the 2014!
I hope that it is off to a great start so far!
Normally at this time of the year, I am bummed that vacation is over and I wish I could skip the “going back to work” process. But this year I am excited to get back to my usual routine, back to teaching classes, blogging, writing, and of course, making plenty of green juices and smoothies.
Over our vacation, we ate pretty healthy, stayed active, and tried to find some sort of “normal” routine. I started each day with hot water, usually with lemon, and would head to my mat for yoga or head out the door for a bike ride. The only thing missing was green juice and smoothies. Luckily, we had the chance to make a few smoothies over the break, but nothing is the same as using your own ingredients, recipes, and blender to make a healthy, green smoothie or juice.
Today, I was missing my juice, but wanted something a little more substantial, so I combined the two together. Fresh juice, fresh ingredients, full energy and flavor.
Green Routine Smoothie:
Makes two smoothies.
2 handfuls of spinach
2 bananas (unfrozen)
1 cup coconut water
Juice your apple and lemon in a juicer. Add juice, spinach, and bananas to your blender. Blend until smooth. Add in the coconut water and blend again. Pour into two glasses and enjoy!
This smoothie is packed full of flavor, nutrients, and plenty of energy!
What is your favorite way to get back to your healthy routine after the holidays?
Peace and Love,
